The RE_ exhibition was a collaborative effort by BYENSdesign and Ramboll, focusing on preserving and reviving urban identity through overlooked public fixtures like benches and streetlamps that define a city's character.
By highlighting these elements' cultural and historical significance, the exhibition aimed to spark conversations about integrating urban history into modern city planning and sustainability efforts.
We named the project RE_ to embody its mission, centered around the themes of REmember, REcreate, REuse, and REproduce.
The logo, inspired by the form of the Danish "Æ" letter, symbolizes cultural heritage and visually represents the fusion of the past with modern innovation. This concept focuses on adapting historical urban elements for contemporary use while safeguarding their cultural significance.
We designed an interactive poster concept inspired by vintage paper-cutting games.
Cut, fold, and assemble illustrations of city objects, creating a playful and engaging way to connect with urban history and appreciate the timeless design and craftsmanship of these iconic elements.
